Dory & Joe: The Story of Summit Catering
Summit Catering was founded in 1991 by Dory and Joe Valeriano, a couple with a shared passion for food and events. Dory, raised in the catering business by her German immigrant father, met Joe at Stockton State College in 1989. With Joe’s culinary skills and Dory’s event expertise, they built a business rooted in quality and personal service.
Married in 1993, they dedicated themselves fully to Summit Catering, creating lasting relationships with clients and becoming a trusted name in weddings and special events. Their children—Gus, Jake, Tori, and Nina—have all contributed to the family business. Over the years, they’ve expanded their team with top talent, including Executive Chef Kevin Jennings, Jr., and event planner Francesca.
Summit Catering specializes in upscale, made-to-order cuisine, ensuring every dish meets the highest standards. Unlike mass-production caterers, Joe, Kevin, and Aaron personally oversee each creation. Dory and Tori go beyond catering, offering full event planning and even emergency solutions—Dory is an ordained minister, ready to officiate if needed!
